A (not)Birthday Party

For the fun of it, we had a random birthday party.

A (not)birthday party.

As much as the date on the calendar wasn't a real birth-day, we really had a very real party.  Because you know, what Pickle doesn't like to celebrate their birthday any day of the year, even a few months early?

A certain Pickle needed a bigger bike.  And getting a bike to ride in the middle of summer is way more fun than waiting all the way until your actual birth-day when summer is over and bike riding is hampered a bit by the weather that shows up after summer.  So we made a party out of this crazy (not quite a birthday yet) situation!

Using my favorite cookie recipe, I divided the dough between two 8" cake pans and baked for about 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  I mixed up some icing with palm shortening, powdered sugar, a little water, and a splash each of almond and vanilla extracts.  Oh, and sprinkles of course!  Mmmm, it was gooood!

Happy (not) Birthday!

(And as a side note, a cookie this big is just as much fun for any regular genuine birthday celebration, too!)
